Default Red Label 1.14L with Labels in French and English

Hi there,

I'm quite new to this forum and, also, new into the Whiskey World having started my own discovery of Whisky just a few years ago.

Just yesterday, while doing some house cleaning onto a family house, I've found a Johnnie Walker Red Label of 1.14L with an older logo of the left striding man.

Due to a code that exists on the back of the Bottle, I gather that it is from the 80's, but was rather surprised with the French and English Logos besides the 1.14L Bottle.

I think that it may be Canadian, since there was a family member that was there in the 70's, but that would imply it being from the 70's and not from the 80's as I was thinking due to the code.

And so I come to You in search of advice or help in dating this bottle and in asking it's, actual, market value so that I can decide if I open it or keep it a while longer.

Thanks in advance for Your help.

Hi - you are correct that this is a Canadian bottle. However it is from the 1990s. Value approx $25-$40 to a collector looking for this specific bottle, though there is not that much demand for this type of bottle to collectors (it is too young and there were so many of these bottles produced that they fetch little money on the secondary market)

Thank You fransodk. Did think that it was older, but not more than the 70's to 80's. Being from the 90's becomes, sort of, a puzzle since I cannot place how it ended up with us... but that's a puzzle that might be interesting to discover, after all, life must be interesting and each bottle has a story to tell.

I'll save it some more years, and then either open it or try to sell it.
Just saw a comparison between Red Labels from the 90's and 2013 and, apparently, there was some change... so let us see how it goes in the future.

Enjoy a drink and, once again, thank You very much for your help.
